  • Attention seniors! The Golden Coke Awards are TONIGHT at 7pm in the BHS Cafeteria. If you have not yet purchased your ticket, they are $10 and can be purchased from Mr. Markey in room 316. No tickets will be sold at the event, so make sure you do not miss out on this event!

Athletics
  • The girls tennis team defeated Rustburg yesterday 5 to 1 in the first round of the district tournament. Winners were, in singles, Joyce Mac 6-1, 6-0; Bailey Livingston 6-0, 6-1; Lucia Andrades 6-0, 6-1; Nadia Reaves 6-4, 6-3; and Clara Cedillo 6-2, 6-1. The girls and boys teams will have regular practice from 3 till 4:45 today.

  • Congratulations to the Debate team on their 4th place team finish at the State Championships this past weekend. Ian Keen and Matthew Glass had strong showings in Student Congress, while Sarah Light and Jacob Norman were named the State Runners-Up in Policy Debate! Additionally, Sarah Light was named the State Champion Individual Policy Speaker for Classes 1-3! Great job Debate team and our newest State Champion, Sarah!

  • Only one day left to reserve your copy of the book! Tomorrow is the last day. These memories last a life time. Room 112 is always open to pick up information regarding prices and you can drop off your payment. Full price of the book is $85. There will be NO EXTRA COPIES.   • The girls tennis team beat Heritage yesterday 8 to 1. Winner were, #1 doubles Joyce Mac and Bailey Livingston 8-2, #2 doubles Erin Mckown and Lucia Andrades 8-3, and #3 doubles Clara Cedillo and Nadia Reaves 8-0. In singles #1 Joyce won 8-0, #3 Erin won 8-5, #4 Lucia won 8-5, #5 Nadia won 8-2, and Lily Sugaward won at #6 8-5. The team is now 7-3 overall. Go Bees!

  • The Thespian Club and Cast of Cats are collecting food, toys, and supplies for the Lynchburg Humane Society from now until March 31. The 4th period that brings in the most items per student will win a pizza party! For a complete list of accepted items please see the signs in the hall!
  • We are giving away 3 pairs of free tickets to our Spring musical, CATS! Post a picture of yourself with your cat on Instagram using the hashtag brookvillecats for your chance to win. If you don't have your own cat you can always visit the Humane Society!
  • Jellicle cats come one, come all! As Old Deuteronomy journeys through the Heaviside Layer, join us for the Jellicle Ball. Chosen once a year to be reborn, which cat will it be? The mystical Mistoffelees? Or perhaps the cheeky Mungojerrie or the cheekier Rumpleteazer? Maybe the curious Rum Tum Tugger or big Bustopher Jones? Find out March 28, 29, and 30 at 7pm or March 30 and 31 at 2pm! Tickets are $5 for students and $10 for adults. See Mrs. Emanuel in Room 102 to buy your tickets today!!

Come out and support the JV and Varsity Girls Soccer teams as they take on Jefferson Forest at the Hive tomorrow night. JV starts at 5:30 followed by Varsity.

We have been tracking donations so far and we want to recognize the student who brings in the most individual items by giving him or her a pizza lunch for themselves and four friends of their choice!     Their goal is to offer a fun, engaging hands-on course that will expose 12 Campbell County students to the "Green" Industry. Southern Landscape plans on offering paid summer internships to some students that attend the course and for some seniors they hope the internship will turn into full-time employment. Over the past two summers, 3 of our students have gained full-time employment with Southern Landscape and are still with them today!

    Please stop by the School Counseling Office this week to sign up to attend to the informational session that will be held during school at BHS in March. Students who attend this session will get more information on the program and how to apply.

Carter Franklin, Jenny Hamm, Cameron Schulz and Paul Smith finished the State round of competition by placing in 3rd in the Open Division-Gold Tier for the entire State of Virginia! They will advance to the Semi-finals this weekend!! These Bees did an awesome job!!

  • Congratulations to the girls and boys cross country team on their 8th place finishes yesterday in the Region 3C cross country meet. Mia Preston finished 17th over and first for the Bees with a personal best time of 21:35. With this finish Mia qualified for the State Cross Country Meet to be held next Friday in Northern Virginia. Caroline Thomas finish 47th, Christen Thomas 50th, Maddie Anderson 55th, Lucia Andrades 56th and Julia Bonheim 65th. In the boys race Tanner Firkins finished first for the Bees and 32nd overall. Levi Walters finished 43rd, Tyler Deaton 44th, Charlie Maddox 61st, Nicholas Carter 68th and Noah Dalton 69th! Great Job to the Cross Country Team and Good Luck to Mia next week at States. The Cross Country team would also like to thank Mrs. Lester, Mrs. Staley and the SWARM for the AWESOME sub lunch yesterday!!!!

In the girls race, Caroline Thomas finished 2nd for the bees and 34th overall, Christen Thomas 36th, Maddie Anderson 40th, Lucia Andrades 42nd and Julia Bonheim 61st. Athletics
  • Congratulation to the girls and boys cross country team on their performance Saturday at the Knights Crossing Cross Country Invitational. There were more than 2,000 runners in the meet. In the girls race Mia Preston was first for the Bees and 62nd overall (out of 264 runners) with a 5k time and personal best time of 21:48. Caroline Thomas finished 133rd, Christen Thomas 160th, Maddie Anderson 208th and Lucia Andrades 233rd. In the boys race, Tanner Firkins finished 91st over all (there were 317 runners) and first for the bees with a 5k time of 18:15. Kyle Sennett finished 165th, Justin Baty 214th, Tyler Deaton 216th, Jeremy Stitt 236th, Chasen Hunt 248th and Tyler McPheters 314th. Great job to the cross country team.
