Clubs

Mrs. Turner and the French club will start selling Noel Candy Grams for 50 cents Dec. 8th -14th. They will be delivered on the 19th. Send one to a friend.

Fellowship of Christian Athletes is hosting a Blanket and Toy Drive for the Holidays. Any new blankets or toys are being collected for the next two weeks. Please bring any donations to Coach Washburn.

Attention NHS and Key Club members: Are you interested in ringing the Salvation Army bell on Saturday, Dec. 16? If so, stop by the library and see Mrs. Kramer to sign up for a time TODAY!

Blood donors: The blood drive is this Wednesday in the old gym! All donors need a photo ID with their birth date, a pass from Mrs. Cooter and if you're 16 a signed consent form too. There are still a few time slots left if you still want to donate! All donors get a free American Red Cross tshirt!

This Friday the Anime Club will have it's Annual Christmas Party in Mrs. Davis' room. Please bring food to share and a gift if you want to participate in our "Gift Grab" swap.

Hey SWARM!! It's time to make some appearances to support our basketball teams!! Here's the deal:

Monday night. The varsity boys take on Heritage. Be there at 6:30 pm. The theme is ugly Christmas sweater night.

Pick up a ticket from Staley to redeem for two free slices of pizza!!

Let's have a huge turnout and show them what student sections are all about!!

Mrs. Turner and the French club will start selling Noel Candy Grams for 50 cents Dec. 8th -14th. They will be delivered on the 19th. Send one to a friend.

The French club will meet after school this Friday from 3:00 till 4:30.

Key Club will meet Tuesday after school in the library. All members should try to attend. A service hour will be available at this meeting.

Red Cross Club members: If you missed this morning's meeting, you MUST attend this afternoon! Will be held in Mrs. Cooter's room. Snacks provided!

Red Cross Club members: Remember, if you were not at this morning's meeting, you MUST attend the after school meeting! Will begin shortly after the bell. Snacks provided!

Athletics

The BHS Track and Field team had some great performances this weekend at the VA Commonwealth Games Invitational. Taking first place in three jumping events was Nykie Pray. He jumped 21 feet 1.5 inches in long jump, 6 ft 2 inches in high jump and 44 ft 7.5 in in triple jump. All three marks are state qualifying mark and his triple jump mark qualifies him for nationals in March 2018, in New York City.

In the 500 meter dash Susanne Germeroth placed top 10 running 1:30.98. Summer Myers ran a 1:34.53. Brad Wilder ran a 1:16.30 and Zephan Quinn ran 1:17.78.

In the 55 meter dash, Taylor Myers ran a 8.80. Savannah Brown 8.85. For the boys Josh McMillan ran a 7.53 and Joshua Ashby ran a 7.87.

In the 300 meter dash, Summer Myers ran a 49.09. Taylor Myers 52.19. For the boys Zephan Quinn ran a 41.98 and Joshua Ashby a 47.77.

In shot put Kyliana Cox threw 20 feet 5.5 inches and Lydia Mann 20 feet 3 inches. Joshua Franklin threw 31 feet 6 inches for the boys.

Tanner Firkins ran a 5:14.90 in the 1600 meter run. He also ran a 3:09.29 in the 1000 meter run.

In the girls long jump Summer Myers jumped 13 feet 9 inches and Taylor Myers jumped 13 feet even.

Next track meet for the bees will be this Tuesday and Saturday at Heritage High School. Come out and show your support!
