Thursday, February 21
Clubs
  • Students and Staff: the Red Cross Club has decided to up the ante for our military drive! We have been tracking donations so far and we want to recognize the student who brings in the most individual items by giving him or her a pizza lunch for themselves and four friends of their choice! That's right...a pizza lunch on the Red Cross Club for YOU and FOUR friends! Bring in your items to Mrs. Cooter! The competition and collection ends this Friday, the 22nd!

  • Red Cross Club members: our annual packing party will be Wednesday, the 27th at 7 here at the school. We will be packing up all the military drive items and then watching a movie (still to be determined). Chickfila and other food and drinks will be provided for free! See Mrs. Cooter to sign up to come!

  • Any Key Club member wishing to order a t-shirt should come by Mrs. Llewellyn's room before or after school by next Wednesday, February 27th. Shirts are $12.

  • 2019 Outdoor Track and Field will start Monday, March 11th at 3:15 pm. All students interested can see Coach Foster or Coach Johnson, after school, for any additional information.

  • Key Club will meet after school this Wednesday, February 20th, in the library. Members are reminded to bring $12, if you would like to order t-shirts. We will also be electing officers for next year's club, so EVERYONE should try to attend!

  • Boys soccer tryouts will take place after school Monday through Thursday. The bus to take you to the tryout field will be by the baseball field and leaves at 3.
    If it is raining we will be in the gym so bring indoors and cleats.

  • Congratulations to the Debate team on being the Regional Runners-Up at Saturday's South Regional Tournament! Students qualifying for the Super Regional tournament are as follows: Ian Keen, 7th place Student Congress, Matthew Glass 3rd place Student Congress, Victoria Snow 3rd place Lincoln Douglas, and Sarah Light and Jacob Norman REGION CHAMPIONS in Policy Debate! Way to go Debate team!
Athletics
  • Attention all players interested in Brookville Girls Soccer! Tryouts will be held this upcoming Monday to Wednesday from 3:15-5:00pm on the middle school field. Please continue to listen to the announcements for any weather-related changes! Please make sure you bring your completed physical with you on Monday. Players without a physical on file will not be permitted to participate!
  • Tryouts for the girls and boys tennis teams will be Monday the 18th through Friday from 3:00 till 4:30 on the tennis courts or in Mrs. Turner's room if raining. You must bring your completed physical.

  • The Bee Swim Team competed in Richmond this week at the State Championship. The men's team finished in 4th place.

  • The French and Latin clubs will be painting rocks from 3 till 4:30 this Friday the 15th. 
  • Still haven't brought in items for the Red Cross Club's military drive? How about some pizza for motivation! That's right, the Red Cross Club is giving away a pizza lunch to the person who brings in the most individual items for our drive and four friends of their choice! The drive ends Wednesday, the 20th! Remember, we need full- or travel-size shampoo, body wash, lotion, deodorant, etc. and food items too like tuna packs, cup of noodles, granola bars, full-size candy bars, Pop Tarts and more. See Mrs. Cooter, room 105, with any questions or to turn in your items today!

We need shampoo, body wash, deodorant, toothbrushes, toothpaste, chapstick, lotion and food items too like full-size candy bars, cracker or cookie packs, granola bars, PopTarts, and tuna packs. Bring all unopened, unused items to Mrs. Cooter by Wednesday the 20th. 
  • There will be a fishing meeting this Wednesday from 3-4 after school in Mr. Songer's room.

  • Congratulations to both indoor groups for there stellar performance at the AIA EC Glass show this past Saturday. Indoor Guard placed 3rd in their class with their highest score of the season. Indoor Percussion won their class in their first scored performance of the season. Way to go!

  • We are pleased to announce that Southern Landscape Group Inc. will once again offer a Summer Short Course available to current Juniors and Seniors in Campbell County Schools. The course will be held June 10-13 at their Headquarters in Evington.

    Their goal is to offer a fun, engaging hands-on course that will expose 12 Campbell County students to the "Green" Industry. Southern Landscape plans on offering paid summer internships to some students that attend the course and for some seniors they hope the internship will turn into full-time employment. Over the past two summers, 3 of our students have gained full-time employment with Southern Landscape and are still with them today!

    Please stop by the School Counseling Office this week to sign up to attend to the informational session that will be held during school at BHS in March. Students who attend this session will get more information on the program and how to apply.

Items needed include: shampoo, body wash, deodorant, toothpaste, chapstick, etc. Food items can include: Slim Jim's, full size candy bars, tuna packs, rice crispy treats, pop tarts, individual packs of cookies or crackers, etc. Please bring these unopened, unused items to Mrs. Cooter by Wednesday, February 13th!

  • Any boys or girls interested in being on the tennis team. Come to the tennis courts Thursday with Mrs. Turner from 3 till 4:30 ready to play. No experience necessary.
