Attention Juniors and Seniors: Campbell County Schools is pleased to announce a true Workforce Development partnership with English Construction. English Construction, like many companies, sees that their workforce is aging and wants to build interest with youth about careers in the construction field. They think that Campbell County Schools can help them build their future workforce.
June 19-June 23, 2017, Campbell County Schools and English Construction are partnering to offer a Heavy Equipment Training Program held at the Campbell County Technical Center. English Construction is providing the equipment and an instructor while Campbell County Schools is providing a Career and Technical Education Teacher to assist with the training.
The Heavy Equipment Training will include each student earning their OSHA 10 card (Safety Training) and how to properly use and maintain equipment like backhoes and bulldozers. The training lasts from 7:30am-1:00pm each day. At the end of the training program English Construction will offer paid internships for the remainder of the summer to the some trainees. This program could lead to full-time employment for those that are graduates. If you would like to hear more about careers in construction and this training program please stop by the School Counseling Office to sign up to attend a meeting during FLEX on March 28th. Come see where your talents may fit and learn about a great company and profession.
