The following Latin students placed in competition at the Virginia Junior Classical League Convention in November:

On the academic tests, Amanda Sublette placed 10th on the Pentathlon test, Bailey Pennington, 10th place Vocabulary, Nathan Kennedy, 10th place Mythology, and John May, 7th place History and 5th place Geography.

In Arts and Crafts, Melina Barksdale, 10th place Pastel, Lindsey Jamison, 8th place Other Media, Bailey Pennington, 8th place Illustrated Quote, Patrick Rush, 5th place Illustrated Quote, Lucy Wooldridge, 4th place Other Media, Meredith Credle, 3rd place Other Media, Kendall McDowell, 3rd place Other Media, and Allison Tomlin, 3rd place Children's Book.

Also, winners were Allyson Gordon, 9th place Jewelry, Savhanna Long, 5th place Large Models, Alex Reed, 4th place Small Models, Kristen Camper, 4th place, Textiles, Kendall Knight, 3rd place Small Models, Nathan Maddox, 3rd place Large Models, Nathan Kennedy, 2nd place Large Models.

In the Forensics contests, Robbi Rodemann earned 8th place for Storytelling, Kyle Mariner, 6th place Storytelling, and Cameron Roberts, 4th place, English Oratory.


Kristina Overholt won 1st place for her satyr Doll, and Sallie Blanks won Best-in-Show for Storytelling. She performed her story in front of over 2000 delegates at the convention.  Congratulations, students.
