January 27th:    
  • As we begin the 2nd semester, we want to remind you about the Keys to Successful Learning. They are:

    • Get Organized

    • Create a Routine

    • Be Accountable

    • and Ask for Support

    This week, you will be participating in activities that will help guide you through these Keys in order to make your 2nd semester even more successful than the 1st! So start strong, work hard, and you’ll have a great semester!

  • Any junior or senior needing to sign up for range should see Mrs. Martin or Mr. Glaize for an application. Sophomores who have completed the classroom part of Driver's Ed. can sign up as well. Applications can also be picked up in the main office.
  • There are only 80 yearbooks left for the 2020-21 school year!! These will sellout so get yours while you can! See Mrs. Brumfield in room 112 if you have any questions.
  • Attention Seniors! Please check your school email for information about signing the Senior Wall this Friday! See Mr. Markey in room 316 if you have any questions.
  • Teachers and students, be on the lookout for this year's school t-shirt order. You should be seeing the form soon on Canvas, BHS social media, and you will also receive a paper copy in your first period
  • Congratulations to both the Guy’s & Girl’s Teams for their victories over EC Glass, Altavista, & Rustburg. The Guy’s scores were as follows: Brookville 141, EC Glass 97, Altavista 73, and Rustburg 9. The Girl’s came in at: Brookville 112, EC Glass 103, Altavista 99, and Rustburg 29. This contest concludes the regular season. Both teams finished undefeated, at 9-0 each. The championship phase of our season begins this Friday, with the Seminole District Championship.   • The Brookville Bees wrestling team went 2-0 this weekend defeating Lord Botetourt 39-24 and Amherst 66-15! This weekend wrapped up an undefeated regular season for the Bees wrestling team !!!! The Bees had great individual performances this weekend by Matthew Prance, Jackson Poling, Drew Turner, Q Harris, Jayden Hunter, and Dylan Martin who all went undefeated. Team Captains Josh Gunter, Shaun Johnson, Q Harris, and Michael Viar will lead the Bees wrestling team into the postseason this weekend. Way to go Wrestling Team!
  • Congratulations to the Guys’ and Girls’ Team, for their victory over EC Glass. The Guys won in convincing fashion, with a 110 to 50 score. The Girls took down the defending Seminole District 4A Hilltoppers, with a 80 to 71 score. Both the Guys’ & Girls’ Teams are now 6-0 for the season.

  • Good luck to both the boys and girls basketball teams as they take on Heritage. Girls are on the road with JV starting at 5:30 and Varsity at 7. Boys are here in the Hive with JV starting at 5:30 and Varsity at 7. All games will live stream on the NFHS website. Go Bees!

January 20th:    
  • SOL testing is today! If you are taking a SOL this morning, please report to your testing room NOW if you are not already there. If you are taking an SOL this afternoon, you will go to the cafeteria at the BEGINNING of 3rd block to eat lunch and testing will begin at the end of first lunch. If you are testing this afternoon and need to order lunch, please order online using the lunch form, but please choose "TESTING AFTERNOON - CAFETERIA"

  • Last night both the men's and women's swim teams were victorious in Quad-meet competition against LCA, Heritage and Rustburg.

    The men's team won with a score of 188 to LCA 125, Heritage 54 Rustburg 15. On the women's side, they won with a score of 127 to LCA 116, Heritage 83 and Rustburg 40. Both the men's and women's teams remain undefeated at 5-0.

January 19th:

If you are taking an SOL this afternoon, you will go to the cafeteria at the BEGINNING of 3rd block to eat lunch and testing will begin at the end of first lunch. If you are testing this afternoon and need to order lunch, please order online using the lunch form, but please choose "TESTING AFTERNOON - CAFETERIA"
  • This is a reminder that Thursday, January 21st is now an at-home learning day for all Tuesday/Thursday students.So make sure to be following your Keys to Successful Learning to achieve maximum success in these final days of the 1st semester!

  • We would like to congratulate the boys indoor track team on their first place showing in the meet last Friday and the girls indoor track team for placing second. The following athletes scored points in the meet. Charlotte Bowles 2nd place Mckinsey Rulland 4th place and Jada Fyffe 4th place in the girls long jump. Trey Lloyd won the boys long jump with a National Qualifying distance of 22 feet five and half inches which ranks second in the state of Virginia this year. Christian Seeney 3rd in the boys long jump. In boys shot put Chase Mitchell 1st, Bralyn Anthony 4th, Kaleb Osbourne 5th, and Trey Firkins 6th. Trey Lloyd won the boys high jump with another national qualifying height of 6 feet. In the girls 55 meter dash Jada Fyffe 1st, Charlotte Bowles 4th, and McKinsey Ruhland 6th. In the Boys 55 meter dash Ethan Robey 1st, Caleb Christian 2nd, Trey Lloyd 3rd, Silas Rucker 6th. In the boys 4x200 meter relay Brookville finished 1st and 2nd. In the Boys 1600 meter Chasen Hunt 1st, Kyle Sennett 2nd, Landon Todd 4th, Kendrick Ring 5th. In the boys 500 meter dash Brent Wesoloski 1st, Landon Petcher 2nd, Christian Seeney 3rd. In the Girls 1000 meter Sadie Mace 5th and Hannah Foust 6th. In the Boys 1000 meter Chasen Hunt 2nd, Kyle Sennett 5th, and Landon Todd 6th. In the Girls 300 meter dash Jada Fyffe 1st, McKinsey Ruhland 2nd, Charlotte Bowles 3rd, Becca Hawkins 4th, and Valerie Germeroth 6th. In the Boys 300 meter dash Ethan Robey 1st, Yuet Lai 4th, and Christian Seeney 5th. The girls 4x400 meter relay finished 3rd. Way to go Bees. Our next meet will be Wednesday and will be live streamed on the Track and Field Facebook page.

January 14th:

    The Bee women were lead by individual winners; Arleigh Wagner (200 free & 400 free), Jordan Chamberlin (200 IM), Ella Tinsley (100 back) and Suzanne Anderson (100 breast). The girls winning relays were the 200 Medley (Tinsley, Anderson, Chamberlin and Skylar Forbes) and the 200 free relay (Tinsley, Wagner, Kailah Enloe, Sydney Glass).

    The Brookville men's team was lead by individual winners; Emery Simon (200 free & 100 breast), Kyle Sennett (200 IM & 400 free), Brent Riner (50 free & 100 free), Solomon Lewis (100 fly), Aidan Tuck (100 back). The men swept all 3 relays; 200 medley relay (Tuck, Simon, Sennett, Riner), 200 free relay (Sennett, Riner, Emery, Ethan Mayfield) and 400 free relay (Micah Brune, Mayfield, Tuck, Lewis, ).

  • Congratulations to the BEES wrestling team for their dominant victories last night over Heritage and Rustburg in their opening match of the year. The Bees defeated Heritage 76-3 in the opening match and ended the night with a 57-18 victory over Rustburg!! GO BEES
  • Good luck to the girls and boys basketball teams as they take on LCA today. JV at 5:30 and Varsity at 7. Boys are on the road and will stream on the LCA Facebook page. January 13th:

  • Some reminder on the school calendar to finish out the 1st semester. We do not have school on Monday, January 18th. Your final day in person for the 1st semester will be Wednesday, January 20th. 2nd semester begins Monday, January 25th. So make sure to finish up all of your assignments this week following your Keys to Successful Learning! If you need some last minute help to get your assignments in, talk with your teachers about coming this Friday for our FLEX Friday remediation.

January 12th:

  • Reminder to all athletes for EVERY sport: you must pass 3 classes in the 1st semester in order to be eligible to participate in sports in the 2nd semester. So make sure you are tracking your grades and getting help from teachers if needed before the end of the semester in 2 weeks.
  • Track and field practice for this Thursday(today) will end at 4:30 pm instead of 5 pm.
  • Good luck to the boys basketball team today as they take on Rustburg here in the Hive. JV is at 5:30 and Varsity is at 7:00. Good luck boys!

January 6th:    
  • If you would like to join the Debate team, please contact Mr. Markey in order to get more information. The next meeting will be on Thursday from 2:30-4:00 in room 316.
  • Reminder to all athletes for EVERY sport: you must pass 3 classes in the 1st semester in order to be eligible to participate in sports in the 2nd semester. So make sure you are tracking your grades and getting help from teachers if needed before the end of the semester in 2 weeks.
  • Today, the Wrestling team will have a Quad Meet against Rustburg, Amherst, and LCA here in the Hive at 6pm. Good luck wrestling team!

January 5th:    
  • If you would like to join the Forensics team or Debate team, please contact Mr. Markey in order to get more information. Forensics will meet TODAY from 2:30-4:00 and Debate will be on Thursday from 2:30-4:00.
